Every once in a while a little girl comes into my studio and blows me away. Today it was "A"! She is beautiful, funny, and loves my frog! In fact she was searching for it before we even started, lol! She was so natural in her fairy costume and in front of the camera, a photographers dream! Don't get me wrong, I love every child that come to see me, they are all so different and fun...but here and there I find one that just belongs in front of the camera. You might remember little "T" from a few months back. She is such a doll and has the biggest brown eyes in town! I had a feeling that she was going to challenge me today and I was right. I think she just remembers me as "the lady that flashes light in my eyes", lol! She has the most beautiful natural expression but her smiles light up the room, if you can catch one that is...and today we did just that! One of the best things about being a children's photographer is seeing the kids grow with each session as well as seeing their personalities take off. It really makes me think about how lucky I am to have all these kids in my life! They are all so different in their own unique ways, yet they all share the same love for their families and vice verse. It makes me so happy to know that I get to share a little piece of their childhood, even if it's only an hour at a time. Today I got to meet "A" and his big sister "A". While the session was a little crazy, I could see how much this family loved each other and how bonded they were. I had a good time with you guys, I learned a lot! ;-) Don't let me forget next time to keep that darn chicken on lock down! lol!

I started to write a whole thing about how crazy today was with twin boys who loved to be silly, but not at the right times, and young dogs who wanted to look anywhere but at the camera...crazy right? Then I thought about family. Being a family is not always easy, especially when you have little kids. In fact most of us are just trying to keep our heads above water. We always want to remember the best in everything but sometimes the craziest moments are the ones we remember the most. Right? So as crazy as today's session was, it was all about being a family as well. Just having the chance to be together and trying to capture that moment in time forever. So cheers to you "R" family, I think we did good and this session will be talked about for years to come...remember that time we brought the dogs to the photoshoot?....hahahahaha...ok in time we will laugh...;-)

Every session I photograph makes me love kids even more! They are all so different, unique in their own ways. So friendly and they definitely say the funniest things! Today I had the pleasure of photographing the "M" kids, siblings and cousins. So cute! But the best part of the session came when I was trying hard to coax "R" (20 months) to sit next to her brother. Mom, dad and I were trying so hard to get her to stay put but she wasn't having it! That was until my little man "K" decided to poke his head in and out of the studio making her laugh and laugh, pointing and saying, "a boy...a boy..." So of course I enlisted "K" to help me out! He was really happy to do it since he knew there was a lolly pop in the end! And I was really happy that he was so helpful! Here is your sneak peek "M" family! I hope you enjoy it. I feel like I have been a part of this story since the beginning. I first met the "E" family over a fun camping trip to San Elijo. I fell in love with their little boy "D" and his best buddy "A" on that trip! The bond they share is awesome! Even at 3 years old you could tell that they definitely had each others backs! They only way they'd let me photograph them was together, which I was totally happy to do! On that same trip I found out that "D's" mom was going to have another baby! I was really excited for her even though we didn't know each other all that well. It seems like that day was so long ago. I'm sure "J" feels the same way! So today I am proud to help introduce the newest addition to the family, baby "D". He did so well today, I just couldn't stop clicking away! When my good friend "J" asked me to photograph her sister's wedding I said, no. As most of you know I am a children and family photographer, weddings freak me out. But when she told me she was going to photograph it with her point and shoot if I said no, well of course I had to do something! Today I photographed a beautiful little girl on the railroad tracks. Don't worry, these tracks aren't used anymore...;-) I just wanted to say what a good sport she was. Not only did she have to put up with me, she had to put up with my costume changes. It always amazes me how children adapt to everything. Today was quite a day! Not only did I have to break down a fabulous fairy set, clean up shop, and build an entirely new set for tomorrow, I also had a session at the park with an awesome family of 16! Things started off a little rough, for me, not for them, lol! I had grand plans but when my battery pack decided to go haywire on me...well...enough said. So old school it was! We did have a great time! Thank you so much "D" for thinking of me. I know coming up with a game plan took some time and we did go round and round until we finally decided on a location. In the end, I think you will be very happy! I hope you guys had as much fun with me as I did with you! I can't tell you how great your entire family was! We have come full circle at last! Today I photographed my little friend "C". She was actually one of my very first fairies, you can see her on the galleries home page of my website under "enchanted". At the time that was one of my very favorite photographs, in fact I still love it! My fairy obsession has come a long way since then...here is little "C" today...so grown up! The month of July was a little crazy for me. I think I spent more time out of town then in town. It was a very nice break for sure! But now it's time to get back to work! I am very thankful that I have a job that I love!
